The Frangipani Society of Australia is a newly formed society with members in most states of Australia. Members of the society are able to participate in our email forum, discussing subjects such as the culture and care of frangipani, new varieties and distribution of member's cuttings etc. There is also a quarterly newsletter which contains interesting articles relating to Frangipani care and culture.

The Society aims to increase everybody's knowledge on growing frangipani, along with introducing new varieties and species to Australian collections. Many of our members have been collecting local varieties for some time, and between current members, there are several hundred colour varieties in our collections. We also have members who have imported some of the most desirable named varieties and hybrids from the USA, and it is hoped to propagate these and distribute amongst interested members

We are also setting up a name register for all Australian varieties to avoid confusion and eliminate the 'red', 'white' and 'pink' labels applied to most varieties..

The Society is initially a 'virtual' society, all contact being via the Internet services such as E-mail and a web site, which is currently under development. In time, as our membership increases, we will hold local meetings in various parts of the country, and it is hoped that one day we will have a biennial conference with attendees from all over the country and other parts of world.
